We are a non-profit organization with a mission to certify bonafide women-owned business enterprises (WBE) and to promote the activities directed toward the development, establishment, expansion and encouragement of businesses owned by women. GWBC is a certifying partner organization of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Through our affiliation with WBENC, our certification is nationally recognized and accepted by over 700 corporate members.

Our goals are:

• To empower women-owned businesses by providing business and community education and training, resources, and seminars for new and expanding businesses.
  
• To create a bridge that links corporations and women-owned businesses for business development and procurement opportunities.
  

The assistance provided by GWBC, and the purchasing entities supporting it, is essential to the continued growth and development of businesses owned, managed and controlled by women. The development and success of women-owned businesses is very important to businesses that seek a qualified, competitive, and diverse supplier base to support future growth.

Certification as a woman-owned business enterprise is required by numerous private sector companies and governmental agencies. Certification is certainly of value in assisting women-owned businesses to become approved vendors, however, it is not a guarantee of a contract with a corporation or governmental agency.
